Dosage form

Synonyms:
dose form

This term refers to the pharmaceutical formulation by which the drug is introduced into the body. For example, a drug may be dispensed in tablets, capsules, solution, etc.

Dosage form is different from dosage route, as it represents the physical form in which the drug is dispensed, not the route by which it is introduced into the body.
